Oostdyk named Lancaster Laboratories President; Hershey now Chairman of the Board

LANCASTER, Pa., July 7, 2011—Lancaster Laboratories announced a change in the leadership structure. Timothy S. Oostdyk, Ph.D., has been promoted to President of Lancaster Laboratories, the third president in the company’s 50-year history. Previous President J. Wilson Hershey, Ph.D., has become Chairman of the Board.

With Lancaster Laboratories for more than 25 years, Dr. Oostdyk had previously been Executive Vice President and COO. In additional to his current responsibilities overseeing pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical operations in the US and Ireland site and parent company Eurofins Michigan site operations, Dr. Oostdyk will be responsible for the company’s award-winning Professional Scientific Staffingsm program. He will have a coordinating role with the other Eurofins pharmaceutical product testing/quality control laboratories in Europe. He earned a B.A. in chemistry (cum laude) from Franklin and Marshall College and a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Villanova University.

Dr. Hershey has been with Lancaster Laboratories since 1972 and President since 1995. In addition to his Board Chair responsibilities, Dr. Hershey will continue to oversee Lancaster Laboratories’ Environmental Division operations as well as most of the company’s support groups. Dr. Hershey holds a B.A. in chemistry from Millersville University and an M.S. in chemistry, a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, and an M.B.A. from Villanova University.
